Thirty
days hath September, April, June and November. All the rest have thirty-one,
saving February which alone has twenty-eight. Do any of you remember this
little rhyme? I learned it sometime in grade school. I think of it every year
when September arrives. I have been looking forward to September this year,
hoping for cooler temperatures. It has been very pleasant the past week or so.
We
had close to 3 inches of rain total, thanks to Hurricane Isaac. So sorry for
all people who had the damage and destruction it caused down south before it
downgraded, but we needed every drop of rain we got.
Congratulations
to Alison and Brent Maggard on the birth of their daughter, Leighton Hope.
Leighton was born on August 30. Leighton is the great-great granddaughter of
Juanita Shortt.
Volleyball
will be at home Friday night, September 7 against New Covenant, and then an
all-day tournament on Saturday, September 8 at Forsyth, and another home game

High girls only at Mark Twain on Monday night, September 10, and another game
at Thornfield, Thursday night, September 13.
